On Friday, October 17, and Saturday, October 18, Belgrano Day School experienced a weekend of profound spirituality. A group of students received the sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion at the magnificent Immaculate Conception Parish of Belgrano, better known as “La Redonda,” as part of the Catholic formation the school offers as an option for families who request it.
Confirmation: Maturity and the Spirit
The spiritual weekend began on Friday, October 17, when the community gathered at 7:30 p.m. for the Confirmation ceremony. A total of 47 students prepared to receive this sacrament: 44 P6 students (Primary) and 3 S6 students (Middle & Senior) took a significant step in their faith journey. The ceremony was presided over by Bishop Pedro Bernardo Cannavó, Auxiliary Bishop of Buenos Aires, and the candidates were accompanied by their sponsors and families.
First Holy Communion for P4
The following day, Saturday, October 18, the church once again filled with joy, this time with the youngest members of the community. At 10:00 a.m., 34 P4 students (4th Grade) received Holy Communion for the first time. The Mass was celebrated by Belgrano Day School’s Chaplain, Fr. Alejandro Russo, together with Fr. Sebastián Achcar, who added his blessing to this meaningful occasion. As every year, Andrea Pelliccia, Head of Primary, proclaimed the day’s Scripture reading.
Representing the BDS leadership team were Tomás Movsichoff, Deputy Head; Federico Sciola, General Administrator; Estela Fothy, Head of Kinder; Andrea Pelliccia, Head of Primary; Enzo Speranza, Head of Middle & Senior; Estefanía San Martín, Academic Coordinator of Middle & Senior; and Luz Cerini, Board Advisor and former Headmistress of Kinder. They were also joined by Jules Betolaza and Paz Pirovano, members of the Primary staff, who also took part in organizing the ceremonies.
Both ceremonies reflected the same spirit of unity and belonging, reaffirming the values of faith and community that BDS seeks to instill in its students.
