The 2025 Book Fair was much more than a book fair: for five days, Belgrano Day School became a gathering place where reading served as the common thread connecting creative and shared experiences.
Held from July 14 to 18 at the E. B. Green Auditorium and organized by BDS Library, the fair truly lived up to its motto, “Reading with Others Transforms You,” enriching the reading experiences of students from Kinder through Middle & Senior.
Stories and Legends for Our Youngest Readers
For students in Kinder and Primary, the fair offered a vibrant literary program that captivated everyone in attendance. The storytelling duo “Palabras Imaginadas” delighted the youngest children with their performances of “Historias Chiripitifláuticas,” while Juan José Decuzzi transported P5 and P6 students through his fascinating stories and legends.
Beyond the classroom, P1 students explored the rich history of the María Elena Walsh House Museum. It was an opportunity to experience the magic of her literary world and discover the spaces that inspired her songs and stories.
Verses, Forests, and Pure Magic at the Poetry Recital
One of the highlights of the Book Fair was the 8th edition of the P4 Poetry Recital, streamed live on the Belgrano Day YouTube channel, allowing a wider audience to enjoy the talent of our young performers.
This year’s theme was the forest: tree branches stretched out from books, poems, and songs, calling students to gather. Lost in a forest of verses, they listened to the voices of poets and, in doing so, found their own.

Activities for Older Students
The fair also addressed current topics and cultural issues, including a talk for S4 students on the philosophy and work of the Wikipedia Movement. Senior students also performed theatrical adaptations of literary works they had studied in class. S6 presented Othello, while S4 performed Rebecca & A Streetcar Named Desire, showcasing the students’ artistic talent.
The event concluded with an engaging talk on Argentina’s most talked-about graphic novel, El Eternauta, presented by specialists from Banda Dibujada, which generated great interest among Middle & Senior students.
As in every edition of the fair, storytelling sessions in both Spanish and English took place every day, and there was also space to explore the intersection between artificial intelligence and literature, opening new perspectives on the future of reading and creativity. This year also featured a very special exhibition: posters from every edition of the Book Fair since 2013, offering a journey through the event’s history and the opportunity to enjoy its beautiful illustrations.
The 2025 BDS Book Fair was, without a doubt, a space for connection, learning, and enjoyment, reaffirming Belgrano Day School’s commitment to promoting reading and fostering a lifelong love of books.
