During the first semester of 2025, students in the final years of Middle & Senior at Belgrano Day School took part in a variety of Workplace and Higher Education Readiness (ACAP) activities, educational initiatives promoted by the Ministry of Education of the City of Buenos Aires. These experiences are designed to support young people in their transition to adult life by connecting them with the university and professional worlds through practical, immersive, and inspiring opportunities.
In terms of higher education, students participated in enriching experiences with both national and international universities, broadening their perspective on the options available after completing secondary school.
University Fair: A Global Perspective on the Academic Future
As every year, BDS hosted the University Fair. Held at the E.B. Green Auditorium, the event welcomed more than 450 students from nine schools and featured representatives from 25 higher education institutions, both national and international, who provided information about their academic programs and career opportunities.
In addition to visiting the university stands and learning about different academic programs, students attended a workshop on career guidance, CV writing, and job interview preparation.
University Experiences That Inspire
As part of the ACAP program, students also took part in a variety of activities that connected them with the university environment. Some of the highlights included:
- Visits to the Faculty of Agronomy (UBA): Senior 6 Science students toured laboratories, learned about ongoing research projects, and interacted with researchers and academics. The experience provided valuable insight into potential career paths in the applied sciences.
- UdeSA Camp: a hybrid program (in-person and virtual) that allowed students to further develop their personal projects with guidance from professors and entrepreneurs from the University of San Andrés, who provided valuable feedback.
- ITBA: Students participated in “Future Day,” a program featuring workshops, talks, and interactive experiences designed to give them a closer look at student life at the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology. They also attended the “Allies for Your Future” talk and visited the offices of Globant, where they heard firsthand from ITBA graduates now leading projects at one of the world’s most innovative technology companies.
- Visits to various universities: In addition to those mentioned above, students visited several other higher education institutions, including the Argentine Catholic University, where they took part in the “University World” program; Torcuato Di Tella University; the University of CEMA; Austral University Hospital; the Italian Hospital University Institute; and Favaloro University.
International Universities
Senior 6 students attended an information session about the University of Bologna, the oldest university in the Western world and one of Europe’s most prestigious academic institutions. Held at the E. B. Green Auditorium, the session offered a valuable opportunity to explore higher education options abroad. Since opening its branch in Argentina in 1998, the university has promoted cultural, political, and academic exchange between Italy and Argentina, while introducing its educational programs to young people interested in pursuing an international academic path.
Students also attended Australia Educa 2025, an event where they could learn about studying in Australia, including scholarships and student visas. Organized by CW International Education, the event offered the opportunity to meet representatives from Australian universities and receive free guidance on planning a study experience in Australia.
These experiences reinforce Belgrano Day School’s commitment to a global, well-rounded, student-centered education that not only develops knowledge but also supports each student in building their own life project.
