We are pleased to announce that we have taken another step forward in our commitment to educational innovation and bilingual learning: Belgrano Day School has been accredited as a Cambridge Early Years (CEY) educational centre, marking the beginning of an exciting new stage for our Kinder section.
This project, which marks an important milestone in our journey with Cambridge International—a partnership that began more than 80 years ago in Middle & Senior and later expanded to Primary in 2012—is part of our School Project 2025–2030. The accreditation was officially granted on 25 October 2024, and our teaching staff has already completed its first training session during our latest Institutional Improvement Meeting (EMI).
Objectives of the CEY Programme Implementation
The goals of this new stage are clear and fully aligned with our educational model. Through this programme, we aim to:
- Strengthen bilingual education in alignment with Primary School, consolidating English language learning from early childhood.
- Enhance our current English as a Second Language teaching approach by incorporating Synthetic Phonics, fostering listening skills and preparing children for reading and writing.
- Integrate the holistic CEY curriculum into our current educational practices, focusing on its six key learning areas: Communication, Language and Literacy; Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Creative Expression; Physical Development; Mathematics; and Understanding the World.
- Reinforce the Montessori and Reggio Emilia methodological approaches that are embedded within the CEY framework, in harmony with our own educational philosophy.
- Continue our commitment to teacher development by promoting ongoing professional learning and training for our Kinder staff.
This project reflects our commitment to honouring our traditions while continuing to innovate in pursuit of a comprehensive, bilingual education centred on the holistic development of every student. We are delighted to celebrate this important achievement as we begin the 2025 academic year.
