“Reading with Others Transforms You” is the theme of the 2025 edition of Belgrano Day School’s traditional Book Fair, organized by BDS Library, which will take place from Monday, July 14 to Friday, July 18, at the E. B. Green Auditorium.

Our Book Fair is designed to enrich our students’ reading journey, from the youngest children in Kinder to the oldest students in Senior, through a literary program carefully curated to inspire and surprise.
A wide range of special guests
As every year, we will welcome guest storytellers. The duo Palabras Imaginadas will present a performance entitled “Historias Chiripitifláuticas,” offering a playful encounter with poetry, songs, and whimsical stories for K2, K3, and K4 students.
The same group will also present “Pinceladas Coloniales,” their newest production, which will transport K5 and P2 students back in time to discover old Buenos Aires through art, play, and storytelling. In addition, Juan José Decuzzi will visit with a selection of timeless stories and legends for P5 and P6 students.
A new edition of the Poetry Recital
One of the event’s beloved traditions is the Poetry Recital performed by P4 students. This project, now in its eighth edition in 2025, is developed during reading sessions at BDS Library and culminates with our young readers reciting poems aloud. The recital will be streamed live on the BDS YouTube channel on Tuesday, July 15, at 9:30 a.m. Everyone is warmly invited to join the broadcast!
Activities beyond the school grounds
This year, the Book Fair will extend beyond the school campus as P1 students and their teachers embark on a field trip to the María Elena Walsh House Museum. There, they will experience the magic of her literary world while exploring the spaces that inspired her songs and stories. This visit will serve as the culminating activity of the interdisciplinary reading project developed this semester between Spanish Language and BDS Library, centered on the work of this remarkable author.
More talks and theatrical performances
We will also host a talk on the Wikimedia Movement, its philosophy, and its projects, presented by Florencia Guastavino, Head of the Education and Human Rights Program at Wikimedia Argentina. The session is intended for S4 students as part of their ongoing learning about the information world.
Throughout the week, students will also enjoy theatrical performances inspired by literature, including a production based on Othello presented by an S6 group, and another based on Rebecca and A Streetcar Named Desire, performed by S4 students for the M3 cohort.
Finally, the Book Fair will conclude with a talk about the iconic Argentine science fiction graphic novel El Eternauta, presented by specialists from the cultural organization Banda Dibujada, for all Middle & Senior students.
Students and their teachers will visit the Book Fair throughout the week. There will be reading corners to explore, as well as activities that approach artificial intelligence from a literary perspective.
