The Belgrano Day School auditorium was transformed into a magical stage during the three performances of the eagerly awaited Kinder Play 2025: From Trash to Treasure, held on November 26, 27, and 28. This event not only marked the end of the school year for our youngest students but also conveyed an important message about environmental awareness.
The production featured different casts across the three performances, with the participation of all Kinder students. On November 26, the cast included Leopards, Dolphins, Hippos, and Koalas; on November 27, Tigers, Lions, Elephants, and Bunnies; while the November 28 performance featured Dinosaurs, Pandas, Bears, and Piglets. As always, the stars of the show were the Kinder 5 students, who graduate this year and celebrated the completion of their journey through our beloved Kindergarten.
A Lesson in Environmental Stewardship
The BDS Kinder Play 2025 told the story of a brave group of Pirates (K5) who discovered that their ship had been trapped by a mountain of trash on a paradise island. To continue their journey, they sought help from the island’s magical inhabitants and learned that the solution lies in working together.
Guided by the Magical Creatures (K2), the pirates joined forces with the Earth Protectors (K3) and the Sea Protectors (K4). Together, they learned how to transform waste into useful materials through the recycling process. Through magical dances, they restored the island’s natural beauty and cleaned the ocean.
Finally, with both the island and the sea restored, the pirates were able to free their ship and celebrate the fact that, through collaboration and creativity, it is possible to turn trash into true treasure.
A Collaborative Project
The Kinder Play was truly a team effort. The process began in August and involved every area of Belgrano Day School. The choreography, songs, and overall organization were the result of the teaching team’s creativity, while families contributed by creating scenery and lighting effects. The support of the school’s design, maintenance, and leadership teams was also essential, as they worked tirelessly to make this event a unique experience.
This year also brought an exciting new addition: the songs were professionally recorded in a studio, giving our young performers the experience of becoming real recording artists.
