From July 13th to 17th, the E. B. Green Auditorium transformed into a grand literary universe to celebrate the highly anticipated Belgrano Day School Book Fair. Under the theme “Home is Where the Heart Reads“, students and teachers from all sections shared a week full of reading, imagination, unforgettable storytelling, and stage performances.
First steps among stories and music
For the youngest students in Kinder and the first cycle of Primary, the experience was marked by wonder and play. K1, K2, and K3 children enjoyed warm sessions led by the BDS Library mediators. Meanwhile, K4 and K5 readers immersed themselves in stories brought to life through puppetry and live music by Cía. La Madriguera. In addition, P1 and P2 students had the beautiful opportunity to rediscover the beloved stories and songs of María Elena Walsh in an artistic space tailored to them, performed by Mariela de la Sota.
Authors, myths, and poetry read aloud
As we moved through the different Primary levels, the program invited students to take ownership of words. A true highlight was the ninth edition of the Poetry Recital, where students shone reciting verses in English and Spanish. There was also room to travel through myths from around the world in a session for P5 and P6 led by storyteller Marcelo Guerrero. Meanwhile, P4 had the chance to experience an enriching face-to-face meeting with writer Diego Paszkowski in a conversation full of clues and literary curiosity.
Oral tradition and creativity on stage
Middle and Senior students enjoyed a vibrant schedule that especially captivated the auditorium with historic epics in a one-man show by José Luis Gallego and science fiction storytelling by Marcelo Guerrero, who invited them to discover the world of Ray Bradbury.
To crown this special week, we want to highlight the enormous effort of the BDS Library team in dreaming up and coordinating every detail of the fair. A heartfelt thank you to the teachers for their support and to all the families who joined in sharing this experience.
Throughout the entire week, our readers have been the true protagonists, continuing to treasure moments driven by the desire to imagine and grow among books.
