Since its beginnings, but especially over the past 25 years, Belgrano Day School has been known for its pursuit and practice of educational innovation. In 2025, it took a new step along this path with the launch of its Safe and Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy. This is a pioneering initiative in the Argentine educational field, seeking not only to regulate, but also to encourage the pedagogical use of this technology.
More than a set of rules, this policy is a statement of principles reflecting the school’s ongoing educational transformation, recognizing the enormous potential of AI as a tool to personalize learning, foster student autonomy, and prepare new generations for a constantly changing environment.
Objectives of the policy on the use of AI in education
The purpose of this launch is to incorporate AI tools in a pedagogical way to enrich both teaching and students’ learning experience, while fostering digital literacy across every level of the school community. It also offers concrete guidelines to support teachers and students in the responsible and formative use of these technologies.
One of the fundamental pillars of this policy is its ethical dimension. In a context where there are still no official national regulations governing the use of these technologies at the school level, BDS takes on the responsibility of setting institutional standards, leading the way. It thus proposes developing a critical perspective on the biases and limitations of AI models, fostering academic integrity, and using technology as a tool to cultivate students’ critical thinking, creativity, and ethical judgment.
Our guiding principle is clear: to build an educational community capable of analyzing, designing, and solving problems using computational principles, through an integrated and multidisciplinary approach.
Far from being a final destination, the AI Use Policy is one more step in a process we have actively promoted, from research and outreach through to its implementation in concrete educational experiences, and one that we will continue to deepen going forward.
BDS’s five pillars for an innovative education
This transformation is built around the five fundamental pillars of Belgrano Day School’s educational project:

AI Sessions: teacher training for AI-driven education
In line with this policy, throughout 2025 the AI Sessions series will take place, a set of four meetings designed to support teaching teams in building a critical, ethical, and creative perspective on the use of artificial intelligence in education.
At the first meeting of the year, the school welcomed Diego López Yse, a professor at UTN and an AI specialist, who offered conceptual tools and discussion prompts to enrich teachers’ reflection. Also joining this session as guests were Constanza Etcheves and Lourdes Morán, members of the DocentIA team from the National Secretariat of Education.
At BDS, artificial intelligence is not presented as an end in itself, but as an educational opportunity to enrich learning, boost creativity, and develop critical thinking.
