With the curtain down after the final performance, pride in the work accomplished can be felt in every corner of Belgrano Day School. More than one hundred Middle & Senior students starred in a historic production at the E. B. Green Auditorium, completing four performances of the Play “Voices of Revolution” that moved the entire school community and sold out every single show.
The power of ideas on stage
Inspired by the life of Alexander Hamilton, the play immersed us in the origins of a new nation. Through an innovative fusion of hip hop, rap, R&B, and traditional musical theater, the students brought to life the story of a group determined to change the world with the power of their words, proving along the way that great goals are achieved through teamwork, perseverance, and constant effort.
A revolution behind the scenes
Beyond the artistic display, the true impact of this production took place during the months of preparation, where students took on the challenge of sustaining a large-scale project with moving dedication. In the words of Sergio Lombardo, the Play’s Director: “From the very first rehearsal, we understood that this show would not be just a musical. Hamilton speaks of ideals, passion, convictions, and young people who dare to raise their voices to transform the world around them. And, in a way, that same thing happened during this process with our students.”
Behind every choreography and every note lay hours of study, responsibility, and deep mutual trust. On this point, Lombardo highlighted the value of the journey the students went through: “In a time when instant gratification often prevails, seeing so many young people sustain an artistic commitment of this magnitude fills us with hope. Because behind every scene, every note, and every choreography, there are hours of study, responsibility, and love for shared work.”
A tradition that leaves its mark
This achievement not only reaffirms the impact of art as an essential tool for education, sensitivity, and personal development, but also cements the Play as one of our institution’s most beloved traditions.
