A space to explore, create and find one’s own voice
Through different means and artistic languages, materials and projects, students develop their creativity, broaden their views on the world, and discover new ways to think, do and communicate.
An atelier designed for creative experience
The area of Art & Design is found in an atelier made up of three interconnected classrooms, thought to favour idea, material and project exchanges.
It is a space that invites students to imagine, experiment, start over and create alongside others, experiencing art from different dimensions.
Art as a process of discovery
Our project is based on an open and flexible learning idea, where making mistakes is a part of the discovery path and unexpected choices can be made in each process.
From a perspective similar to that of rhizomatic pedagogy, learning is understood as an expanding network: it is explored, deepened, redeveloped, and created once more.
Throughout this path, students:
- Develop their creativity.
- Broaden their artistic sensitivity.
- Find their own expressive voice.
- Discover new ways to think, do, and communicate.
Art used to think about the contemporary world
In the last years of Primary School and in Middle School, students start working on projects that connect art to current topics.
Through mockups, sculptures, recyclable materials and unconventional resources, students explore themes such as:
- Care for the environment,
- Consumption and reuse of materials,
- Re-signification of every-day objects,
- Creativity applied to non-traditional materials.
And so, art becomes also a tool to observe, question, and transform reality.
Senior: Visual Arts IB
Create, research and develop with a personal artistic eye
In Senior School, students can carry out their artistic production inside the frame of the Visual Arts programme of the International Baccalaureate (IB), a proposal that combines artistic exploration, research, and critical reflection.
Students work in different formats and artistic languages, among the:
- 2D Art
- 3D Art
- Lens Media / 4D art, integrating cinema, photography, and contemporary visual means
Throughout the programme, students develop a sustained creative process, which includes:
- Research and analysis of artistic figures.
- Experimentation with materials and techniques.
- Construction of a personal portfolio.
- Reflection upon their own process and production.
- This path culminates in projects that integrate creativity, critical thinking and a personal artistic eye, along the international standards of the IB.
